Activate the Historical Imagination of your Students
Destrehan Plantation's award-winning and nationally renowned Heritage Education Program affords students of all ages an opportunity to walk back in time and witness history firsthand. Explore the beautifully restored house and the magnificent grounds featuring 200-year old live oak trees as well as educational exhibits and demonstrations. Student tours are grade-level appropriate and meet school district curriculum benchmark and standards for grades K-12. To assure desired dates, please book student tours one month in advance. Allow a minimum of two hours for the student visit.
All proceeds from the Heritage Program go to the restoration and preservation of Destrehan Plantation and its dependency buildings.
